Death-Ray Du Comedie

Oh, my, that was exhausting...

8 hours STRAIGHT of of-the-wall, largely improvised, Terry-Gilliam-strange, drug-induced, abstract, avant-garde, stand-up comedy.

No breaks, no intermission, no musical acts, no dogs jumping through hoops, no fire-balls - nothing!

How did I come across going to this? Well, funny you should ask....

I was enjoying a slow-cooked halibut and chips - with extra Seaman sauce - at my favorite "C+ rated" establishement, The Yukon Mining Co., when I remembered having browsed the Bob and David website*, and found out that they were both going to perform at THE COMEDY DEATH RAY 2nd ANNIVERSARY SHOW (or something to that effect).

*BLOGER'S foot-NOTE:

Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are the funny men who created and stared in

Myself and my dinner companion, both big fans of the show and Dave and Bob's mis-guided sense of humour, decided to head down and see if we could get in (supposedly SOLD OUT.) Naturally, we get there, and the place looks deserted. Easy-peasy we get in, and weren't released again until 6 AM on Saturday.

In that 8 hours we saw:

BJ Porter

Some dude named Dino

This guy hung out at the back all night, hoping someone would cancel, so he could go on. Finally, around 5AM, "Pepitone" went on and yelled a bunch of un-funny jokes for twenty minutes.

Some funny lookin' feller named Patton Oswalt...

and this even funnier lookin' "man"

Brian Posehn, who you've probably seen on JUST SHOOT ME, the David Spade show from the late 90s.

Oh, and Andy Dick showed up...

and did his version of the old Abbott & Costello bit, "Who's on First" with the help of Dino(pictured above).

All and all, an enjoyable night of hilarity and crazy antics.
